Before confirming a private Maasai Mara safari, check how your route,
accommodation and planned activities affect park access. Two itineraries with
the same number of nights can require different ticket arrangements.

the access and payment details to confirm for your own trip.
1. Identify the sector and accommodation
Ask which part of the reserve you will enter, where you will stay, and whether
the itinerary includes a private conservancy. Do not assume that a payment
instruction for the Mara Triangle applies to every Narok-side gate or a
separate conservancy.
2. Check each planned access day
The Mara Conservancy
describes a daytime ticket running from 6 am to 6 pm. Confirm the arrangements
for an overnight stay and departure day rather than assuming a ticket rolls
into the next morning.
- For a road safari, check arrival time and the planned return-day programme.
- For a fly-in safari, check flight times, transfers and any departure-morning drive.
- For an optional activity, ask whether it requires additional park access.
A flight or camp booking should not be treated as an automatic park-fee
exemption. Have the ticket basis explained for the agreed itinerary.
3. Read the inclusions and optional extras
Check whether your quote includes park admission, vehicle access and any
relevant activity charges. For a private safari, confirm the agreed vehicle
and guiding arrangement as well as accommodation and meals.
Keep ballooning, cultural visits and other optional activities separate from
the included programme. Ask for their current availability, price and
conditions before adding them; a general guide cannot confirm supplier terms
for your travel dates.
4. Agree who arranges the tickets
The Mara Triangle’s published guidance specifies cashless park-fee payments.
Confirm the current authorised route for your sector and retain tickets and
receipts. If admission is included in your safari, check who will arrange it
before buying a separate ticket.

5. Check documents and rules
Carry the identification supporting your visitor category and confirm
children’s ages for the visit. Ask about any special eligibility requirements.
