Does the Elephant Nursery visit need advance booking?

Yes. Entry requires an official Sheldrick Wildlife Trust booking confirmation; a tour reservation alone is not the Nursery confirmation. The public session is 11:00–12:00 and does not operate on 25 December. Same-day Nursery bookings are unavailable.

Are the attraction entry charges included?

Yes. This product’s included-items list covers KWS Nairobi National Park admission, the separate Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nursery entry donation and Giraffe Centre admission.

Can visitors feed the elephants?

No. Nursery keepers feed and directly handle the elephants. Visitors observe the public session and follow the keepers’ instructions.

Is souvenir shopping required?

No. The beadwork workshop and any extra souvenir-shopping stop are optional. Purchases are at your own expense.

Are wildlife sightings guaranteed?

No. Wild animals move freely. Your guide selects authorised routes according to conditions and animal movements; particular species and encounters cannot be guaranteed.

What are the pickup and return times?

The planned Nairobi hotel pickup is 06:00 and return is 16:00, approximately 10 hours. Traffic and optional stops can affect the return time.

Which vehicle can I choose?

Choose a safari minivan or Land Cruiser 4x4. Select the corresponding booking option and its applicable price. This is a day tour with no overnight accommodation included.

Overview

The planned hotel-to-hotel programme runs from 06:00 to 16:00, approximately 10 hours. Combine a private Nairobi National Park game drive with the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nairobi Nursery and Giraffe Centre. The current tour includes admission to all three attractions, hotel pickup and drop-off, your choice of a safari minivan or Land Cruiser 4×4, a guide and bottled water. The Nursery requires an official advance booking confirmation for its 11:00–12:00 public visit and is closed on 25 December. Wildlife sightings are unpredictable. Beadwork and souvenir-shopping stops are optional.

Your guide collects your private party from the agreed Nairobi pickup point and takes you to Nairobi National Park. The day follows a sequence of a morning park game drive, the Sheldrick Nairobi Nursery public visit and the Giraffe Centre, with an optional Kobe Tough craft stop between the Nursery and Giraffe Centre.

Nairobi National Park :

The morning game drive explores Nairobi National Park by safari vehicle. Your guide follows authorised roads through the park’s habitats, looking for wildlife and birds and choosing viewing stops around the animals encountered. There is time to watch and photograph wildlife without approaching or pursuing it.

The park visit is followed by the Sheldrick Nairobi Nursery. These are distinct experiences: the first observes free-ranging park wildlife, while the Nursery session introduces the care of orphaned elephants.

Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage :

At the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust Nairobi Nursery, visitors watch the orphaned elephants with their keepers during the fixed 11:00-to-noon public session. The experience centres on observing the elephants and their care; only keepers feed and directly handle them.

The visit requires official advance confirmation and does not operate on 25 December. After the public session, the programme continues towards the optional craft stop and Giraffe Centre.

KOBE TOUGH Beads (Optional) :

The optional Kobe Tough stop introduces beadwork and leather crafts at the workshop and shop. Your party has time to look at the craft displays and browse souvenirs before continuing to the Giraffe Centre.

Participation and shopping are optional. Purchases are paid for separately, and the craft stop does not replace any of the three main attraction visits.

Giraffe Centre :

The Giraffe Centre visit combines giraffe viewing with conservation education. The on-site educators explain the animals and supervise any feeding or interaction offered under the Centre’s arrangements.

The visit provides a different perspective from the morning game drive, with time to observe giraffes at the Centre before the programme turns back towards Nairobi.
