Overview

This private one-day programme visits Lake Naivasha first for the included boat ride, Crescent Island walk, lunch and a drink, then continues to Lake Nakuru for the afternoon game drive and Baboon Cliff lookout. Lake Nakuru entry and guiding are included. Road traffic, boat and sanctuary access, and park conditions affect the schedule; particular wildlife sightings and large flamingo flocks are not guaranteed.

Your private vehicle can be a Land Cruiser 4×4 or safari minivan. Check the selected package for its vehicle and price basis; different options may have different prices.

This is a one-day tour with no overnight stay. Planned Nairobi pickup is 06:00; the return journey starts around 17:00, with Nairobi arrival around 20:00–21:00. These timings include the road return and depend on traffic, activity duration, stops and the agreed drop-off location. Arrival may fall outside this window. Allow an agreed additional buffer for any onward flight or timed connection.

6AM :

Travel to Lake Naivasha

Your private guide collects your party from the agreed Nairobi pickup point and heads through the Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha. The programme visits Lake Naivasha and Crescent Island first, then continues to Lake Nakuru National Park for the afternoon wildlife drive and Baboon Cliff.

9AM :

Hippo Boat Tour

The Lake Naivasha boat ride explores the lake environment from the water. The boat operator selects the operating route, providing opportunities to observe hippos and waterbirds in their habitat.

Boarding and the route follow the operator’s safety instructions and the lake’s conditions. After the boat experience, the programme continues with the Crescent Island sanctuary visit.

10.30AM :

Crescent Island Guided Walk

The guided Crescent Island walk follows open paths through the sanctuary’s grassland beside Lake Naivasha. Your guide looks for grazing wildlife and introduces the lake landscape, with opportunities to observe animals on foot.

The landing and walking route follow current access and weather arrangements. The group observes wildlife at a respectful distance before continuing to the lakeside resort stop.

12.30PM :

Lunch at a Lake Naivasha Resort

The Lake Naivasha resort stop provides a pause after the boat ride and sanctuary walk. Your party spends time in the lakeside setting before continuing to Lake Nakuru National Park for the afternoon programme.

1.30PM :

Departure for Lake Nakuru

The programme leaves Lake Naivasha and continues towards Lake Nakuru National Park. This stage links the morning’s lake and sanctuary experiences with the afternoon park visit, followed by entry for the game drive.

2.30PM :

Game Drive at Lake Nakuru National Park

The Lake Nakuru game drive explores authorised roads through lakeside, woodland and grassland habitats. Your guide looks for rhinos, giraffes, waterbirds and other wildlife, choosing viewing stops around the animals encountered.

The afternoon offers a vehicle-based wildlife experience after the morning’s boat ride and walking visit. The drive continues towards the Baboon Cliff lookout.

4.30PM :

Visit the Baboon Cliff Lookout:

The Baboon Cliff stop provides elevated views over Lake Nakuru and its surrounding park landscape. Your party spends time at the permitted visitor area, looking across the lake and the habitats explored during the game drive.

The lookout is the final park stop before the programme leaves Lake Nakuru and returns to Nairobi.

From 17:00; arrival 20:00–21:00 (planned) :

Return to Nairobi

Your guide returns your party from Lake Nakuru to the agreed Nairobi hotel or Airbnb. The return completes the day’s Lake Naivasha boat ride, Crescent Island walk, Lake Nakuru game drive and Baboon Cliff visit.
