4-Day Private Mara Conservancy Safari – Exclusive Off-Grid Camp

4 Days 3 Nights

Overview

A private Mara conservancy safari offers everything the national reserve provides in terms of wildlife diversity and predator density, with the extraordinary additional freedoms that define the most exclusive safari experiences in the Maasai Mara ecosystem: night game drives, off-vehicle walking safaris, and guaranteed privacy in a vehicle-free wilderness. The Mara conservancies form a buffer zone around the national reserve where private landowners have partnered with luxury safari operators to protect and manage land for wildlife, offering a safari experience that is fundamentally more intimate, flexible, and exclusive than anything available inside the national reserve boundary. Your off-grid luxury camp sits in a private sector of the conservancy where only guests of your camp may drive, meaning you will never share a sighting with another vehicle and your guide can park, switch off the engine, and spend as long as you wish watching a leopard, a cheetah family, or a lion kill unfold without time pressure or crowding. The freedoms of the conservancy expand your safari into a 24-hour wildlife experience: night game drives reveal the nocturnal side of the Mara that national reserve visitors never see, with spotlight-lit encounters with bat-eared fox, serval, African wild cat, civet, and the extraordinary dramatic hunts of lions and hyenas in the darkness. Guided walking safaris with armed rangers allow you to explore the conservancy terrain on foot, reading animal signs, learning bush craft from Maasai guides, and experiencing the landscape at a scale and intensity that no vehicle can replicate. Your off-grid luxury camp combines canvas walls and open-air bathrooms with genuine comfort: a king-size bed, solar-powered lighting, a private plunge pool overlooking the plains, and a camp team dedicated entirely to making your three nights in the bush an experience of authentic African luxury. This 4-day private conservancy safari is the ideal choice for returning safari travellers who have experienced the national reserve and want to go deeper, for honeymoon couples seeking absolute privacy and romance, and for wildlife enthusiasts who want to maximise their time in the Mara with the full range of activities available only in the conservancies.

Highly recommend Kelvin of Rustic Nature Tours. We saw his great reviews on Facebook. We wanted to be in a small group and to visit the elephants orphanage and giraffe santiary in Nairobi. Kevin delivered all this and took us to a wonderful community project making beautiful beads. We highly recommend Kelvin and his professionalism.

We wanted to be in a small group and wanted to do a half day tour to experience the amazing elephant orphanage in Nairobi National Park and the giraffes sanctuary. We also didn’t want to have to go out too early having only just arrived. Kelvin of ‘Rustic Nature Tours’ delivered this all perfectly for us. A she took us to a community project supporting local women with making beautiful beads which was wonderful. He was very knowledgable and interesting and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and this company. They also do all sorts of Safaris so we will contact him again when we return. PS please note separate to any tour booking the guest must pay a park fee per person and it’s best to do this in advance via the National park website

Found Rustic tours via a recommendation on Facebook as I needed a Nairobi layover tour guide. Contacted Kelvin and we agreed quickly on what to do and see. He picked us up on airport in the morning in his crazy safari car and we saw downtown, giraffes and we did the Nairobi safari. Got to day that I laughed a lot with Kelvin as he is a great person! He did everything he could so we could see as much as possible in our short time window. See you again my friend!

Had a long layover and booked this last minute. So glad I did! Nicole kept our bags in the car and took us back to the airport after the drive. What a drive! Saw a family of rhinos and a pride of lions. Nicole also recommended a Kenyan cuisine restaurant when we asked. She was very knowledgeable, funny, and we really enjoyed our time with her and the tour. Recommend to everyone

What a fantastic day tour to Nairobi National Park, Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage, and a surprise garden lunch. Our guide, Calvin, a top notch birder and guide paced the day perfectly and provided us with an excellent experience! We have travelled to Kenya multiple times, but our private tour with Rustic Nature Tours and Calvin in particular ranks as a highlight among our experiences.

The sights were once in a lifetime - elephant orphanage and giraffe sanctuary worth a trip to Nairobi. Kelvin, our guide, was great - picked us up on time, pointed out animals on the way, was full of information. Will refer any friends visiting Nairobi his way!
