Day 01 :

Nairobi to Meru National Park via Mount Kenya

The safari departs Nairobi in the morning and travels north through the Mount Kenya highlands towards Meru National Park. The approach passes cultivated highland landscapes before the scenery opens into Meru County and the park. After arrival and settling into the accommodation, the afternoon game drive introduces Meru’s mixture of grassland, riverine woodland and watercourses. The guide explores authorised park routes, with time to observe the animals and birds encountered and photograph the landscape. The drive provides the first viewing session of the stay and an introduction to the Born Free setting before returning to the accommodation for the first of two Meru nights.

Day 02 :

Full Day Meru National Park Game Drives

Morning and afternoon game drives provide a full day exploring Meru National Park. The morning circuit follows riverine habitats and adjoining woodland, with opportunities to observe wildlife around the park’s watercourses. The afternoon continues into open grassland and seasonal-channel landscapes, adding a different part of Meru’s habitat mosaic to the day’s experience. The guide follows wildlife encountered along the authorised routes, allowing time to watch behaviour, identify birds and take photographs. Individual animals and species remain natural encounters rather than guaranteed sightings. The party returns to the same accommodation for the second overnight stay after the two game-viewing sessions.

Day 03 :

Meru to Nairobi via the Mount Kenya Highlands

A final morning game drive explores Meru before the party returns to the accommodation for checkout. The guide leads another circuit through the park’s wildlife habitats, providing a last opportunity for observation and photography during the stay. The safari then leaves Meru for the scenic road return through the Mount Kenya highlands to Nairobi. Farms, highland settlements and the surrounding mountain landscape form the setting for this journey, with the peaks visible when local conditions allow. The return does not include entry to Mount Kenya National Park or Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy. The agreed Nairobi drop-off completes the three-day programme.
