Travel by private road vehicle from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara for three days and two nights. Your vehicle and professional English-speaking guide are reserved for your travelling party, including private solo bookings. The programme includes an arrival-afternoon drive, morning and afternoon game viewing on day two, and sundowner drinks on day two. Day three includes breakfast and the road return to Nairobi; there is no departure-morning game drive. Budget, Mid-Range and Luxury accommodation options are available, with a Land Cruiser 4×4 or Safari Minivan. The selected property and room arrangement determine the accommodation configuration; options are not assumed to cost the same. Full Board meals run from lunch on day one to breakfast on day three. Day 01 :

Nairobi to Maasai Mara

An early collection from the agreed Nairobi hotel begins the private journey to the Maasai Mara. The route crosses the Rift Valley, with a refreshment and comfort stop during the journey before arrival at the accommodation. A safari briefing introduces the wildlife-viewing programme, followed by the afternoon game drive. The guide explores authorised routes through the Mara’s wildlife habitats, giving the party its first opportunities to observe the animals and birds encountered and photograph the open landscape. The arrival-day session introduces the reserve before the full exploration day that follows. The drive returns to the accommodation for the first of two Mara nights.

Day 02 :

Full Day Maasai Mara Game Drives

Morning and afternoon private game drives make this the full wildlife-viewing day in the Maasai Mara. The guide explores grassland and riverine habitats, with time to observe animal behaviour and spend longer at individual encounters. A Mara River visit forms part of the day’s route, adding a river setting to the broader reserve exploration; it does not establish a migration crossing or a particular animal sighting. A midday return to the accommodation separates the two driving sessions. The afternoon continues game viewing and concludes with the included sundowner drinks at a permitted location before the return to the accommodation for the second Mara night.

Day 03 :

Maasai Mara to Nairobi

The party checks out of the Mara accommodation and begins the private road journey back to Nairobi. This is the departure stage of the safari, with no scheduled morning game drive. The return crosses the Rift Valley, providing a final change of scenery from the Mara’s grasslands to the highland approach to the capital. Comfort stops break the road journey before the agreed Nairobi drop-off. Arrival at that location completes the three-day programme following two Mara nights, the arrival-afternoon drive and the full second day of private wildlife viewing.

How long is the Nairobi–Mara road journey?

Journey time varies with the selected accommodation and access route, road conditions, traffic and stops. Day one is a transfer day with an afternoon drive subject to arrival; day three is the breakfast-and-return day. An early-afternoon Nairobi arrival is not guaranteed, and onward flights require an appropriate transfer buffer.

Is the safari private?

Yes. The road vehicle and guide are reserved for your travelling party, including a private solo booking. Accommodation facilities and wildlife viewing areas are shared; a private vehicle does not provide exclusive reserve access.

How much game viewing is included?

The programme includes the arrival-afternoon drive on day one and morning and afternoon game drives on day two. Day three includes breakfast and the road return, with no morning game drive.

Are sundowner drinks included?

Sundowner drinks on day two are included. Alcoholic and premium beverages beyond the listed sundowner service are excluded. The outing follows permitted access and weather conditions.

No wildlife sighting or river crossing is guaranteed. Migration timing and herd locations vary, and resident wildlife remains part of the viewing programme. The guide adapts routes to current conditions and authorised access rather than promising a sighting sequence.

Which meals and entry fees are included?

Meals are lunch and dinner on day one; breakfast, lunch and dinner on day two; and breakfast on day three. Applicable Maasai Mara Reserve entry fees, Nairobi–Mara road transfers, drinking water during drives and use of binoculars are included.

Is the safari suitable for children?

Family arrangements depend on the child’s age, the selected property’s admission and room rules, vehicle seating and any optional activity’s requirements. A child rate category does not establish eligibility for every property or activity.
