Day 01 :

Nairobi to Maasai Mara

Your guide collects your party in Nairobi for the journey to the Maasai Mara through the Great Rift Valley and Narok. A Rift Valley viewpoint stop introduces the escarpment and the landscape below before the journey continues southwest into Maasai country. On reaching the Mara, you settle in before the first afternoon game drive. The guide follows authorised tracks through open grassland and woodland edges, looking for the reserve’s resident wildlife and introducing the habitats explored during the safari. The drive returns to your Mara base towards the end of the day.

Day 02 :

Full Day Maasai Mara Game Drive

The morning game drive explores the Mara’s grasslands and riverine habitats with your private safari guide. The route follows current wildlife activity, with time to observe animals encountered along the way rather than work through a promised sightings list. River areas provide opportunities to look for hippos, crocodiles and waterbirds when they form part of the agreed viewing route. A midday break separates the morning outing from the afternoon drive. The afternoon explores further accessible habitats around your base before returning for the evening. Triangle coverage remains subject to the sector arrangements specifically included in the agreed programme.

Day 03 :

Balloon Safari and Afternoon Game Drive

An early transfer takes you to the balloon launch site before sunrise. The crew provides a safety briefing and boarding instructions while preparing the balloon. The flight offers an aerial perspective over the Mara landscape, with its course and landing point shaped by the wind. Wildlife visible below varies with the flight path and animal movements. The included champagne bush breakfast follows the landing, before the return transfer and a break at your Mara base. An afternoon private game drive completes the day’s wildlife programme.

Day 04 :

Maasai Mara to Nairobi

After checkout, your party leaves the Maasai Mara for the private road journey back to Nairobi. The route passes through Narok and climbs from the Rift Valley towards the capital, completing the journey through landscapes introduced on the first day. The safari ends with the agreed Nairobi drop-off. No morning game drive is included on this departure day.
