This private three-day Maasai Mara road safari starts and finishes in Nairobi and includes two nights at the selected camp or lodge. Your vehicle and English-speaking guide are reserved for your party. The programme includes an arrival-afternoon game drive and morning and afternoon drives on the full middle day, followed by breakfast and the road return on day three.

The selected room arrangement, vehicle, dates and party size determine the quotation; all configurations do not necessarily share one price. Six meals, applicable reserve entry fees for the scheduled programme and drinking water during game drives are included.

The two transfer days provide less viewing time than the full day in the reserve. Road conditions, stops and traffic affect the journey, and the guide follows authorised routes and wildlife movements. There is no separate final-morning drive, guaranteed wildlife encounter or fixed Nairobi return time. A Maasai village visit remains optional and charged separately.

Day 01 :

Nairobi to Maasai Mara National Reserve

The safari leaves Nairobi in the morning and travels through the Great Rift Valley and Narok to the Maasai Mara. The private vehicle continues to the Mara base for check-in before the afternoon wildlife outing. This first stage introduces the change from the Rift Valley journey to the reserve’s open grasslands.

The afternoon game drive explores authorised reserve routes with your safari guide. Viewing stops follow the animals encountered along the circuit, allowing time to observe their behaviour and photograph the surrounding landscape. The drive ends back at the Mara base for the first night of the safari.

Day 02 :

Full Day Maasai Mara Big Five Game Drive

Morning and afternoon game drives provide a full day of exploration in the Maasai Mara. The morning outing follows authorised routes across the grasslands and riverine areas, with viewing stops chosen by the guide as wildlife is encountered. Time back at the Mara base separates the two outings.

The afternoon drive returns to the reserve for a further viewing circuit. The guide follows the day’s wildlife movements rather than a fixed list of sightings, combining time at animal encounters with an appreciation of the wider savannah landscape. The programme returns to the same Mara base for a second night.

Day 03 :

Maasai Mara to Nairobi

The final day begins with checkout at the Mara base and the private road journey back to Nairobi. The return travels through Narok and the Great Rift Valley, bringing the circular safari route back to its starting city.

This is the return stage of the itinerary rather than another game-drive day. The programme ends in Nairobi after the two-night stay in the Maasai Mara.

How many nights and game drives are included?

This is a three-day, two-night road safari from Nairobi. Day one includes an afternoon game drive; day two includes morning and afternoon drives; day three includes breakfast, checkout and the road return without a separate morning game drive.

How long are the Nairobi transfers?

The safari travels by road through the Rift Valley and Narok. Journey time depends on the accommodation, entry route, road conditions, traffic and stops. A fixed five-hour transfer or guaranteed early-afternoon Nairobi return is not part of the programme. Any onward airport connection needs an agreed timing buffer.

What does private mean on this safari?

Your road vehicle and English-speaking safari guide are reserved exclusively for your party. Lodge or camp facilities and the reserve are not exclusive to you. The itinerary does not include a shared group departure or promise unlimited off-road access.

No. Wildlife movements, visibility, weather and reserve access affect viewing. This itinerary includes time in the Maasai Mara but does not guarantee every Big Five species, a predator encounter or a river crossing.

Is a Maasai village visit included?

No. A Maasai village visit is optional and charged separately. It is not a compulsory part of the scheduled game drives.
