What the morning involves
A balloon morning begins early, with a transfer to the launch area and a briefing before take-off. The operator determines the launch arrangements and the pilot decides whether conditions are suitable.
Mara Ballooning describes flights of approximately one hour. The actual route follows the wind; the duration, landing place and wildlife seen vary.
Confirm exactly what you are booking
Ask for the named operator, pickup arrangements, flight inclusions and full cost for your dates. Confirm whether breakfast and transfers are included and how the activity fits with the day’s game drives and park access.
Your private road safari does not automatically mean an exclusive balloon basket. Confirm whether you are booking seats on a shared flight or a separately quoted private charter.
Suitability and weather
Age, height, mobility and other participation requirements depend on the operator. Share the travellers’ ages and any relevant access needs before paying, so the selected operator can confirm suitability.
Flights depend on weather and the pilot’s safety decision. Read the selected operator’s cancellation, refund and rescheduling terms before booking. A later flight also depends on space and your safari schedule.
Make room in your safari
Keep the rest of the morning flexible and confirm your camp’s pickup location. Tell us if the balloon flight is a priority so we can check the fit before finalising accommodation and transfers.
Ballooning is an optional extra unless your current trip record and written quote explicitly include it. No independent balloon price is displayed here; your quote identifies the activity and its current cost.
Your safari, your pace
Make it part of your journey.
Tell us your dates, party size, children’s ages and what you would most like to experience. Include this guide’s title or link in your enquiry.
