Itinerary
The family’s private safari begins with the road journey from Nairobi to the Maasai Mara. Arrival is followed by an introduction to the safari programme and an afternoon wildlife outing when entry and arrival arrangements permit. The guide introduces the Mara’s open grassland and the animals encountered, with time for questions and observation rather than a fixed sighting list. The outing returns to the Mara base for the first of three nights, beginning the family’s stay in the reserve area.
The first full family safari day is devoted to private wildlife viewing in the booked Mara area. The guide sets the outing lengths and rest periods around the family’s interests and the children’s attention spans. Game viewing provides time to watch animal behaviour, ask questions and notice details of the wider habitat. The private vehicle allows the programme to follow the party’s interests within permitted access, without assuming a particular children’s club, pool or lodge activity is included. The day returns to the Mara base for the second night.
A second full family wildlife day builds on the observations and interests developed during the first outings. The guide can revisit an area that was rewarding or explore a different part of the booked viewing area, allowing the family more time with wildlife rather than rushing between stops. Outing lengths and breaks continue to follow the needs of the party. Only age-appropriate activities already agreed for the family form part of the programme. The safari returns to the same Mara base for its third and final night.
The family checks out after three Mara nights and begins the private road journey back to Nairobi. There is no scheduled morning game drive on this departure day. The journey leaves the Mara landscape behind and returns towards the capital, completing the wildlife portion of the family holiday. The guide finishes the programme at the Nairobi drop-off agreed for the booking. No additional lodge activity or sightseeing stop is added to the return day.
