The programme moves from Lake Nakuru to the Maasai Mara. The first Mara game-viewing session explores suitable routes through open grassland and wooded margins, looking for grazing herds and predators.

The drive introduces the savannah landscape and provides time to observe wildlife before the following full day in the Mara. The experience follows the animals encountered rather than a promised list of sightings.

The day is devoted to exploring the Maasai Mara by safari vehicle. Your guide follows suitable reserve routes, pausing to observe wildlife behaviour and look for animals across the grassland and wooded habitats.

An optional Maasai village visit can be separately arranged and paid for. It is additional to the included game-viewing programme, which continues in the Mara before the following day’s move to Lake Naivasha.

The safari leaves the Mara for Lake Naivasha, the final destination on the circuit. The included boat ride explores the freshwater lake, providing opportunities to observe hippos and waterbirds from the boat operator’s route.

The included Crescent Island walk follows the sanctuary’s open paths through grazing habitat beside the lake. The boat and walking activities give a different perspective from the preceding park drives before the final Naivasha overnight.
