7-Day Kenya Honeymoon Safari – Mara Naivasha & Diani Romance

The journey leaves the Maasai Mara and continues by road to Lake Naivasha. The landscape changes from the Mara’s savannah to the Rift Valley basin and the freshwater lake setting. After arrival in the Naivasha area, the remainder of the day is at leisure at the lakeside property. This quieter part of the programme separates the Mara game drives from the following day’s lake and walking activities. The Naivasha stay lasts two nights, allowing a full day for the included boat ride and Crescent Island visit before the onward coastal journey.

A private guided Lake Naivasha boat ride explores the lake and its papyrus-edged shoreline. The boat crew selects the route around current lake and wildlife conditions, allowing opportunities to observe hippos and waterbirds while maintaining distance from animals. The included Crescent Island Game Sanctuary walk provides a contrasting view of the lakeside habitat on foot. The walk follows sanctuary visitor instructions through grassland used by free-ranging wildlife; the visit does not involve a crater-rim hike or unrestricted approaches to animals. The safari leaves Lake Naivasha and returns by road to Nairobi’s Wilson Airport for the included flight to Ukunda Airstrip. An arrival transfer continues to the Diani Beach property, where the programme changes from inland wildlife and lake habitats to the Indian Ocean coast. The afternoon provides time to settle into the beach stay and explore the shoreline. The day’s included sunset dhow cruise adds a view of the coast from the water, under the excursion crew’s operating instructions. This begins the two-night Diani stay.

The full Diani day includes the programme’s guided coral-reef snorkelling excursion. The activity explores the coastal marine setting under the operator’s briefing, with the route and time on the water governed by tides, sea conditions and the participants’ abilities. Marine wildlife encounters depend on what is present during the excursion. The remainder of the day is at leisure at Diani Beach, with time to enjoy the shoreline and the coastal surroundings between the scheduled water activity and the final evening of the stay. Spa treatments and personal shopping remain optional activities at additional cost.

The final day begins at Diani Beach before the departure transfer to Ukunda Airstrip. The included flight returns the couple to Nairobi, ending the coastal stage of the honeymoon.
