Day1 :

Nairobi to Samburu

The private safari leaves Nairobi and travels north through the central highlands towards Samburu National Reserve. On arrival, the afternoon game drive introduces the dry-country landscape and wildlife associated with the Ewaso Nyiro River. The guide searches the open scrub and riverine habitats for the animals present, including species such as Grevy’s zebra and gerenuk. This first outing establishes the setting for the following full exploration day before returning to the Samburu base for the first of two nights.

Day2 :

Samburu Exploration

Morning and afternoon game drives explore Samburu’s riverine vegetation, open plains and dry scrub. The morning outing searches for wildlife active during the cooler part of the day, with time to observe behaviour at the sightings encountered. After a break at the Samburu base, the afternoon drive explores additional viewing areas and follows current wildlife activity. Both outings take place during the normal daytime game-viewing programme. The party returns to its base after the afternoon drive, completing its second Samburu day.

Day3 :

Samburu to Ol Pejeta

The road journey leaves Samburu for Ol Pejeta Conservancy in the Mount Kenya region. An afternoon game drive introduces the conservancy’s grassland and woodland habitats, with the guide interpreting the conservation work and wildlife encountered. The programme includes the chimpanzee sanctuary visit during the Ol Pejeta stay, coordinated with the sanctuary schedule. The northern white rhino visit is also included and forms part of the following day’s conservation programme. The party remains at its Ol Pejeta base for two nights.

Day4 :

Full Day at Ol Pejeta

The full Ol Pejeta day combines daytime wildlife drives with the included northern white rhino visit. The conservation experience introduces the protection and care of these animals, while the game drives explore the conservancy’s grassland and wooded habitats. The included chimpanzee sanctuary visit is completed within the conservancy’s visiting schedule if it was not taken on arrival day. Time in the field focuses on wildlife observation and the guide’s explanation of the conservancy, before returning to the same base after the afternoon outing.

Day5 :

Ol Pejeta to Nairobi

An early morning game drive at Ol Pejeta is optional before departure. Travellers taking this outing have a final opportunity to observe the conservancy’s wildlife, while those not joining remain at the base until checkout. The private road journey then returns to Nairobi through the central highlands, completing the Samburu and Ol Pejeta circuit. No additional conservation visit or other excursion is scheduled after leaving Ol Pejeta, and the safari concludes at the agreed Nairobi drop-off.
