4-Day Amboseli & Naivasha Safari – Mountains to Rift Lakes

4 Days 3 Nights

Overview

An Amboseli and Naivasha mountains to Rift lakes safari links two of Kenya’s most photogenic and ecologically distinct destinations in a compact and rewarding four-day itinerary that showcases the extraordinary diversity of the East African landscape. The journey begins in Amboseli National Park, where the snow-capped summit of Mount Kilimanjaro rises to 5895 metres above the volcanic floodplains and emerald marshlands that are home to some of Africa’s most photographed elephant families. Large-tusked elephant bulls, family groups wading through the Enkongo Narok swamp, and the mountain’s early morning silhouette before clouds gather create the most iconic safari imagery in all of Kenya. From Amboseli the route drives north through the Rift Valley to Lake Naivasha, a serene freshwater lake ringed with yellow fever trees and papyrus swamps where hippos wallow in the morning shallows and African fish eagles command the skyline. This Amboseli and Naivasha safari is ideal for travellers seeking a high-quality Kenya wildlife experience within a tight schedule, combining two world-class destinations into four days of extraordinary encounters with Africa’s most charismatic wildlife. The contrast between Amboseli’s dramatic volcanic landscape with its distant mountain backdrop and Naivasha’s lush freshwater shores creates a naturally complementary two-destination itinerary that satisfies both wildlife enthusiasts and nature photographers. A morning boat ride on Lake Naivasha reveals the lake’s remarkable birdlife including pelicans, cormorants, and the spectacular African fish eagle at close range, while an optional walking safari on Crescent Island allows guests to walk freely among giraffe, zebra, and wildebeest. With three nights of comfortable accommodation and expert guiding throughout, this mountains to Rift lakes safari delivers exceptional value and extraordinary memories in every one of its four days.

Highly recommend Kelvin of Rustic Nature Tours. We saw his great reviews on Facebook. We wanted to be in a small group and to visit the elephants orphanage and giraffe santiary in Nairobi. Kevin delivered all this and took us to a wonderful community project making beautiful beads. We highly recommend Kelvin and his professionalism.

We wanted to be in a small group and wanted to do a half day tour to experience the amazing elephant orphanage in Nairobi National Park and the giraffes sanctuary. We also didn’t want to have to go out too early having only just arrived. Kelvin of ‘Rustic Nature Tours’ delivered this all perfectly for us. A she took us to a community project supporting local women with making beautiful beads which was wonderful. He was very knowledgable and interesting and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him and this company. They also do all sorts of Safaris so we will contact him again when we return. PS please note separate to any tour booking the guest must pay a park fee per person and it’s best to do this in advance via the National park website

Found Rustic tours via a recommendation on Facebook as I needed a Nairobi layover tour guide. Contacted Kelvin and we agreed quickly on what to do and see. He picked us up on airport in the morning in his crazy safari car and we saw downtown, giraffes and we did the Nairobi safari. Got to day that I laughed a lot with Kelvin as he is a great person! He did everything he could so we could see as much as possible in our short time window. See you again my friend!

Had a long layover and booked this last minute. So glad I did! Nicole kept our bags in the car and took us back to the airport after the drive. What a drive! Saw a family of rhinos and a pride of lions. Nicole also recommended a Kenyan cuisine restaurant when we asked. She was very knowledgeable, funny, and we really enjoyed our time with her and the tour. Recommend to everyone

What a fantastic day tour to Nairobi National Park, Sheldrick’s Elephant Orphanage, and a surprise garden lunch. Our guide, Calvin, a top notch birder and guide paced the day perfectly and provided us with an excellent experience! We have travelled to Kenya multiple times, but our private tour with Rustic Nature Tours and Calvin in particular ranks as a highlight among our experiences.

The sights were once in a lifetime - elephant orphanage and giraffe sanctuary worth a trip to Nairobi. Kelvin, our guide, was great - picked us up on time, pointed out animals on the way, was full of information. Will refer any friends visiting Nairobi his way!
