Day1 :

Departure from Nairobi & First Glimpse of Samburu

The safari starts with the private road journey north from Nairobi through the central highlands towards Samburu National Reserve. The arrival-afternoon game drive introduces the reserve’s arid landscape, riverine vegetation and northern wildlife. The guide looks for species such as Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe and Somali ostrich while explaining the contrast with Kenya’s wetter highland environments. The viewing follows the wildlife present rather than a guaranteed sequence of encounters. The safari returns to its Samburu base for the first of two nights.

Lunch + Dinner

Day2 :

Full Day Exploration of Samburu

An early game drive explores Samburu’s wildlife habitats, with the guide looking for animal activity across the open country and riverine areas. A rest at the safari base separates the morning and afternoon outings. The later drive follows further viewing opportunities around the Ewaso Nyiro River and neighbouring habitats, where the guide interprets the behaviour and ecology of the animals encountered. A visit to a local Samburu community is optional and separately arranged. The day returns to the Samburu base for the second night.

Day3 :

Farewell to Samburu & Return to Nairobi

The final morning allows an optional early game drive before checkout. If included in the party’s departure arrangements, that outing provides a last look at Samburu’s landscape and wildlife before leaving the reserve. The safari then begins the private road journey south through the changing northern and central Kenyan scenery. Arrival at the agreed Nairobi drop-off completes the three-day programme. The departure day does not promise an additional specialist activity or a particular final wildlife encounter.
