6-Day Private Mara, Naivasha and Amboseli Safari

The safari begins with pickup in Nairobi and the road journey to the Maasai Mara. The programme introduces the reserve with an arrival-day game drive when the arrival and reserve-access arrangements allow the outing. Your guide follows permitted viewing routes and looks for wildlife across the grasslands and riverine areas encountered during the drive. This is the first Mara stage and the beginning of a two-night stay. The full reserve day follows tomorrow, providing the main opportunity to explore beyond the arrival route.

Morning and afternoon game drives provide a full day in the Maasai Mara. Your guide explores the reserve’s grasslands and riverine habitats, choosing viewing stops in response to the animal activity encountered. The outings provide time to observe behaviour and the relationship between wildlife and the surrounding landscape. This full day builds on the first afternoon’s introduction and completes the main Mara exploration before the journey to Naivasha. Migration herds, crossings and particular predator encounters are not scheduled or guaranteed events.

The road route leaves the Maasai Mara and continues to Lake Naivasha for the included overnight stop. The lake programme includes a boat ride and the Crescent Island walk, combining observation from the water with wildlife viewing on foot. These are the activities that distinguish the Naivasha stage from the park drives on either side of it. The boat and island visits follow the actual lake-access arrangements. The Naivasha stay provides the intermediate destination before the onward journey to Amboseli.

The journey continues by road from Lake Naivasha to Amboseli National Park. The day brings the safari from the Rift Valley lake setting into the plains and wetland landscape of Amboseli, beginning a two-night stay in the park area. An afternoon game drive takes place only where arrival allows an outing within park hours; it is not a guaranteed additional session. The full Amboseli day follows tomorrow. Kilimanjaro forms part of the setting when cloud and visibility allow a view.

A full day in Amboseli combines morning and afternoon game drives. Your guide explores the park’s plains, woodland and wetland habitats, following permitted tracks and the wildlife activity encountered during the outings. Viewing stops allow time to observe elephants and other animals when present, with the different habitats providing varied perspectives on the park. The two sessions form the main Amboseli exploration after the transfer day. The day ends with the second Amboseli overnight before the final morning outing and return to Nairobi.

The scheduled final morning game drive completes the Amboseli visit within park opening hours. Your guide leads the last wildlife-viewing outing along the permitted route, providing a further look at the park after the previous day’s exploration. Your party then leaves Amboseli and travels by road back to Nairobi for the scheduled hotel drop-off. This completes the six-day circuit through the Mara, the Naivasha lake-and-island stage and Amboseli, with no further overnight included.
